
The temple at home is a sacred place where we worship God. Therefore, naturally, it should be a positive and peaceful place. The temple area, when kept according to Vastu Shastra, can bring health, prosperity and happiness to the house and its occupants. Although a separate worship hall would be ideal, this is not always possible in metropolitan cities, where space is lacking.

Dos and don’ts to decorate the temple at home (ghar par mandir ko sajaane ke lie kya karna chahiye)
- Light or lamp should be placed on the right side of the person performing the worship.
- Decorate the temple with fresh flowers. Light some scent candles, sun or incense sticks to cleanse the area and create a divine atmosphere.
- Photographs of deceased / ancestors should not be kept in the temple.
- Make a small shelf near the temple to keep incense, worship material and holy books.
- Ensure that the temple has electric points, so that the temple lights up on festive days.
- Avoid placing unnecessary items under the temple or dustbin in this area.
- The temple should not be against the wall behind which there is a toilet. It should also not be placed under a toilet on the upper floor.
- For the temple location, use white, beige, lavender or pale yellow colors.
