Rudraksha is of great importance in Hinduism. Its garland is considered the best of all garlands. And the fruit that comes from its chanting is also much more than the chanting of other garlands.
The form
This word is formed by the combination of two words (Rudra + Axis). Rudra means Shiva and Aksh means eyes originated from Shiva’s eyes.
Origin of Rudraksha
Many stories about Rudraksha have been found in mythological texts. The story of its origin in Skandapurana is as follows.
In ancient times the ruler of Hades was a king named Maya. He was very powerful, mighty and invincible. Once a strange desire arose in his mind. He had to establish his suzerainty over other worlds just like Hades. Because of this desire, he started attacking humans, gods, and sages.
Stunned by the arrogance of his force, the Maya king got three men built on three horns of the Himalayas. All three of them were made of different metals. One was made of gold, the other of silver, and the third was made of iron.

Cause trouble to the gods
In a way, these three Purus were like an impregnable fort, and staying here the Asuras caused great hardship to the Gods. He oppressed the gods and won their place and denied them all rights. All the Asuras then started living in the abodes of the gods. In this way, the Asura resided in the impenetrable Tripura and acquired his dominance over the three worlds.
In this way, he got scared and very upset due to the loss of all rights from the gods. In this time of crisis, all the gods thought to come out of this disaster. At that time, he decided that only Brahma, the creator of this terrible calamity, could get us out and all the gods reached unity with Brahma.
Gods reach Brahma
They together told the whole episode to Brahmaji and said that “you can protect us, so take any measures that those forces can win their position and rights as before by conquering egoistic asuras.”
Listening to this commentary of the gods, Brahma Ji said, “At this time, Tripurasura is a great sage, time and fortune are also supporting him. At the moment, they are all so powerful that even I cannot defeat them. Only Lord Vishnu can help us in this difficult situation. We should all go to Vishnu Lok at this time. Surely Lord Vishnu will have our welfare. ”
In this way, all the gods and Brahma reached Vishnu Lok and praised Vishnu and analyzed the crisis that came over him and also asked for a way to protect him from the diseases. On this, Lord Vishnu also expressed his inability and said to the gods that “Only Lord Shiva can give us the solution to get rid of this calamity.”
Reached Shiva
All the gods, including Lord Vishnu and Brahma, Indra, along with the gods, went to Kailash Lok near Lord Shankar.
As soon as they reached there, they paid obeisance to Lord Shivshankar and the gods revealed their disaster and told that the Rajasur, named Maya, had made three impregnable purses on the tricolor. Have given. That is why we have come to your shelter, please help us, Devadhidev Mahadev.
Hearing this poignant story of the gods, Lord Shankar gave them abbey and asked them to present the war material. After hearing the talk of Lord Shiva, the gods made preparations for war.
Start of war
Prithvi Mandal was made a chariot for this war, and the chariot charioteer was Swayam Brahmaji. Seated on it, the bow of the Sumeru mountain, the Taurus flag was worn by Lord Shiva. Lord Vishnu himself was a divine arrow. Shivji took that arrow in his hand.
In this way, all the gods, including the gods Vishnu, Brahma, and Indra, etc. reached Devadhidev Mahadev near the cities of Tripurasura situated on the horns of the snow Shailendra. As soon as he reached there, Lord Shiva put the Amogha arrow on his bow.
As soon as the shulpanis were done, the three Purushas of those demons were destroyed. Because of this, there was an outcry among the demons. Some of the heroes of Tripura killed the demon Gana, some started running in fear, some were consumed by burning fire. At the same time, Lord Shiva Shankar took his form as a Rudraksha.

Devils destroy demons
Thus after the destruction of Maya Rajasura and the Tripurasuras guarded by him, Devadhidev Shankar, in his form of Rudra, took all the gods to rest on a delightful summit of the Himalayan mountain. Lord Rudra was very pleased when the fatigue of the war was eradicated. The victorious Shivji started laughing loudly and laughing in the same joy, four drops of tears fell from the eyes of Lord Rudra.
The same four Harshashruvo produced four seeds due to going to that cold mountain on Gir. After spending time, the same seeds grew green with letters, flowers, and fruits, etc. And in this way, this tree, which was created from the tears of the eyes of Rudra, has been known in the world as “Rudraksha”.
Significance –
Rudraksha is considered to be the true Shiva form due to dripping from the eyes of Lord Rudra. There is a belief in the Puranas that the one wearing it wears Shiva himself. Many stories are found in this topic.
An interesting story is related to Rudraksha.
At one time, a Brahmin named Devadatta lived in a village in the state of Kerala. He was proficient in theology.
After some time, his mother became confused due to misunderstanding and he became very ill-tempered, wicked. He continued to lead in all wrong deeds. Looting other people, being subject to addictions, gambling, stealing, torturing the poor, etc. started doing all the deeds.
Devdutt started persecuting people in various ways due to his misbehavior and for this reason all the villagers and the village head together kicked him out of the village. That is why he started living in another village.
Devdutt could not stay away from his conduct even there. In a few days, the people of that village tested his insular intelligence. As a result, he was also evicted from that village.
Thus, due to being found asylum nuns in another village, he went to live in the forest. But here, there was no interruption in the Papakarmo of Devadatta. He started killing animal beings and devouring them and kept quieting his apps. For a long time, he wandered from one forest to another. Only then did his body become unconscious and he fell to the ground. And he died there.
Miracle of rudraksha
After his death, Yamdoots started to drag him to Yampuri, but the ground where Devdutt fell. By the same coincidence, before the death of a Rudraksha, the grain was placed on his head. Only at the time of death, Shivshankar had given orders to Shivdhankar to bring Devadatta to Shivaloka on the head of this flower called the axis of Rudra.
When Yamdoot was taking Yadpuri while Devadatta was dragging him, Shivduto stopped him and there was a lot of controversy in him. Finally, after making war, Shivdoot took Devadatta in divine form and took him to Shivaloka, and upon reaching there, he attained Shiva harmony. There are many similar stories or stories available in the Puranas that tell the importance of Rudraksha.
Conclusion
