Dhanteras 2020 – Dhanteras Puja Method And Auspicious Time

Dhanteras is one of the major festivals of India. Diwali festival starts with Dhanteras. Dhan Teres is celebrated on the first day of this festival lasting five days. Panditji says that Dhanvantari was born on the day of Trayodashi of Kartik Krishna Paksha, hence this date is known as Dhanteras.


 

When Dhanvantari appeared, he had an urn full of nectar in his hands. Lord Dhanvantari as he appeared with the urn, therefore, there is a tradition of buying utensils on this occasion. Dhanteras is on 13 November in the year 2020. On the day of Dhan Teres, special importance is given to the worship of Kubera, the god of wealth, and worship of Yama, the death god. This day is also known as Dhanvantari Jayanti.

Legend of Dhanteras

This date is considered very auspicious especially for traders. Maharishi Dhanvantari is worshiped as the god of health. According to mythology, Maharishi Dhanvantari came at the time of the ocean churning with the nectar urn. That is why the practice of buying utensils became prevalent on this day. It is also believed that by moving or buying immovable property on the premises of Dhanteras, wealth increases thirteen times.

According to another legend, Goddess Lakshmi was to stay at a farmer’s house for thirteen years due to a curse by Lord Vishnu at one time. Due to Maa Lakshmi’s stay at that farmer, her house became full of wealth. After thirteen years, when Lord Vishnu came to take Maa Lakshmi, the farmer urged Maa Lakshmi to stop there. On this, Goddess Lakshmi said to the farmer that tomorrow is Trayodashi and if he will cleanly and light the lamp and invoke them, then the farmer will get wealth and wealth. The farmer did as Mother Lakshmi said, and she got wealth and wealth. Since then, the practice of Lakshmi Pujan became prevalent on the day of Dhanteras.

Dhanteras Puja

On the evening of Dhanteras, a lamp is offered for Yamdev. As a result, the worshiper and his family get protection from the wrath of death god Yama Raj. Especially if Grihalakshmi donates a lamp on this day, the whole family remains healthy.

The tradition of buying utensils must be done in full. Especially buy brass and silverware as brass is an important metal of Maharishi Dhanvantari. It provides health, good luck, and health benefits at home. Traders buy new books on this special day, which they worship on Diwali.

According to Jyotishacharya, buying silver on Dhanteras has special significance. It is a symbol of the moon. Silver gives man the coolness in life. Since silver is the metal of Kubera, buying silver on Dhanteras leads to fame, fame, glory, and wealth in the house. In the evening, the houses are lit at the main gate and in the courtyard, and Diwali begins.
