Importance of Jyestha Purnima

Jyestha Purnima has great importance in Hinduism. From this day onwards, devotees leave for the Amarnath Yatra along with Gangajal. According to Hindu Panchang, Jyeshtha is the third month of the Hindu year. At this time, the Earth heats up tremendously, and many rivers and ponds dry up or their water level decreases. For this reason, the importance of water in this month increases ten times as compared to other months. Festivals like Ganga Dussehra, Nirjala Ekadashi, etc. in the month of Jyeshtha show how important water is to life on earth and it should be used properly and carefully.
