Solar Eclipse
Although Solar Eclipse is an astronomical event, it is not considered auspicious in terms of astrology and spirituality. According to Hindu scriptures, it is obligatory to keep the house clean and tidy after a solar eclipse.
After the eclipse is over, the house and its surroundings should be swept clean. It is best to start the house with water mixed with salt or camphor . Then Tulsi Theertham can be sprinkled inside and outside the house. It is good to keep spices indoors and burn camphor and sandalwood. Personal hygiene should also be observed after the eclipse. After the eclipse, take a bath and eat Tulsi Theertham to avoid the ill effects of eclipse. Eat only after bathing. It is also very good to light a lamp with ghee.

December 26 was the second eclipse in a century. The Sun was seen as a fiery ring in many places. The walk was closed in all the temples except the Thiruvarp Sri Krishnaswamy temple in Kottayam. It is customary in all temples for idols to cover the eclipse time. This is done because the ill effects of the eclipse will destroy the spirit of the idol.

After the eclipse, many anointings and bowls will be performed. But the eclipse did not hinder the poojas at the Thiruvarp Sri Krishna Temple in Kottayam. Only the gates of the tower were not open during the eclipse. The deity of Thiruvarp is Lord Krishna who is starving after the slaying of Kamsa. Lord Krishna resides here as an unstoppable deity. Thiruvarp has an idol of God that is not affected by eclipses.

Solar eclipse According to Astrology
Rahu and Ketu are considered to be terrible sin planets. The stories of Rahu and Ketu are formed with Palazhimadhana. After passing Mohini with nectar, Simhikeyan, the demon general, followed Mohini. While offering nectar to the gods, Simhikeyan took the form of Devabrahman and established himself. Realizing this, the enchanted Vishnu appeared in his own form, took the Sudarshan Chakra and cut off Simhikeyan’s throat. The nectar tasted by the demon was held halfway up the neck of the head and the rest of the body around the neck.

The demon body was divided into two parts by the appearance of Vishnu, but they remained active under the influence of nectar. These were fixed by Vishnu on Nabhas. They became Rahu and Ketu over time. Rahu is the head. Ketu is the headless body part. Over time, a serpentine form appeared on the head and throat. There was also a serpent’s head with the writing on it as the head of the kabandham. So they swallow the sun and moon whenever they get a chance during their journey. According to mythology, these are solar and lunar eclipses.
