Wednesday Fasting Story

Buddhwar Vrat Katha

In Hinduism, every war or day has a different significance in itself. Wednesday is considered to be the day of Buddha and it is related to wisdom or knowledge.

At the same time, Mercury planet is a factor of knowledge, work, intelligence, business, etc. If Mercury is sitting down in the horoscope of a person, then it is considered auspicious to keep Wednesday fast (Budhwar) to avoid the ill effects of Mercury.

On the other hand, there is also a law to worship Lord Ganesha in many places on Wednesday. According to belief, there is never a shortage of money in the house, saving from wasteful expenditure and there is no trouble in the house.

According to the legend, once a man went to his homeland to take his wife. Where he stayed for a few days then he started going to his house with his wife, then his mother-in-law admitted that today is Wednesday (Budhwar Vrat Katha) and do not go on this day.

But the person did not listen and, ignoring all the things, took his wife out of the chariot to her house. On the way, the person’s wife felt thirsty, so she told her husband that I am very thirsty.

Then the person took the vessel and started to take water from the river. When he came to his wife with water, he saw his face sitting next to his wife in a similar costume on the chariot. Seeing this, the person became enraged and asked in anger, who are you and how is Mary sitting near her wife.

The other person said that this is my wife and I am bringing it away from my in-laws right now. The two men started quarreling with each other about the wife, so the soldiers of the state came and grabbed the man who brought the water and asked the woman, who is your real husband.

The woman remained calm as she was unable to recognize her real husband as the two were identical. Hence who would the woman call her real husband?

When the woman was unable to identify her real husband, the person prayed to God and said – O God, how is your Leela that you are not able to distinguish between truth and falsehood.

Then there was a voice in the air that you should not go on a fool today on Wednesday. But you did not listen to anyone, all this is the play of Lord Buddha. If you want this play to stop, then apologize for your mistake. Then the person sincerely prayed to Buddhadev and asked for forgiveness.
