Why Didn’t Lord Krishna Marry Radha? Know 3 Reasons

Lord Krishna as Radha wanted so Radha when Lord Sri Krishna was just love, why not Krishna married Radharani? Know the reason

  1.  There are many kinds of beliefs in this regard in the scriptures. Some say that Radha was a form of Shri Krishna and not someone else. Scholars say that in the Skanda Purana, Shri Krishna has been called ‘Atmaram’, that is, one who remains blissful in his own soul, he does not need any other for bliss. His soul is Radha. Therefore, you can never separate Radha and Krishna, then there is no question of marriage and separation. Sri Krishna has revealed himself in two forms. It is a beautiful form of God. In the Puranas, this form was seen to be associated with mystery, spirituality and philosophy.
  2. According to a legend in Brahmavaivarta Purana, Radha lived in Goloka with Sri Krishna. Once in his absence Sri Krishna was roaming with his second wife Virja. When Radha arrived, she went away from there, angry at Virja. Sri Krishna’s servant and friend Sridama did not like Radha’s behavior and started calling Radha very bad. Radha got angry and cursed Sridama to become a demon named Shankhchud in the next life. On this, Sridama also gave birth to him in human form on Earth and cursed him for 100 years. When Radha was cursed, Krishna told her that you will be born in human form, but you will always be with me. This was the reason that Radha and Shri Krishna had lost their childhood.
According to the Balachand of Ramcharit Manas, Vishnu was once tricked with Naradji. Instead of giving him the appearance of himself, he had given the appearance of monkey. Because of this, he became a character of laughter in Lakshmiji’s swayamvara and his desire to marry Lakshmiji remained subdued.

When Naradji came to know of this deceit, he reached Vaikunth with anger and called God very good and cursed him, ‘he will have to bear the separation of wife’. Because of this curse of Naradji, Lord Ramachandraji had to suffer the disconnection of Sita in Ramavatar and Goddess Radha in Krishnaavatar.

  3. According to other mythology, Radha was five years older than Shri Krishna. Radha saw Sri Krishna for the first time while his mother Yashoda tied him to Okhal. Some say that she had visited Gokul with her father Vrishanuji when she first saw Sri Krishna, and according to some scholars, the two met for the first time at Sanket Tirtha. However, when Radha saw Krishna, she became madly in love with him and Krishna too became angry after seeing him. They both fell in love.

  • Radha used to listen to Shri Krishna’s Murali and dance as a child and she would go out to meet him. When there was a discussion about the love of Krishna and Radha in the village, the people of Radha’s society stopped her from leaving the house.
  • On the other hand, one day Shri Krishna told Mother Yashoda that Mother I want to marry Radha. Hearing this, Yashoda Maiya said that Radha is not the right girl for you. The first is that she is five years older than you and the second is that her matchmaking (Yashode’s brother Rayan) has already taken place from some side and he is in the army of Kansa who has just gone to war. Radha will be married to him when he comes. Therefore you cannot marry him. We will find another bride for you. But Krishna started insisting. Then Yashoda said to Nanda. Krishna did not even listen to Nanda. Then Nandabab took Krishna to the sage Garga.
  • The sage Garga explained to Krishna that you were born for a specific goal. It has been predicted that you are the savior. In this world you will establish religion. You should not marry this Gwalan. You have a special goal. Then Shri Krishna says that I do not want to be a savior, I am happy and joyful by staying between my cows, gwalanas and these river mountains and if I want to establish religion, should I start with this iniquity that wants me and Leave what I love? This is not justice.
  • Garga Muni explains in every way but Krishna does not understand, then Garga Muni tells him in secret that you are not the son of Yashoda and Nanda, the son of Devaki and Vasudev, and Kansa has put your parents in jail.
  • Hearing this, Shri Krishna was not in a position to say anything and then he said please tell me more about it. Then Garga Muni said that Narada has recognized you and you have revealed all your qualities. Your signs indicate that you are the great man whom Rishi Muni is talking about. Hearing this, Shri Krishna woke up silently and went to the highest peak of Mount Govardhan and started looking at the sky alone. He stayed there all day and at the time of sunset, knowledge became available. From there, his condition and direction changed.
