Bhumi Poojan (Land Worship)

The land is considered to be the mother of the whole world, the foster of the world, so that is why the earth has also been given the status of the mother in Hindu scriptures. Everyone knows what we get from the land, ie the land to live, food to eat, rivers, waterfalls, streets, roads all pass through the chest of the earth.

That is why in the scriptures, any work on the land, whether it is to build a house or public buildings or roads, there is a law of land worship before construction. Why do Bhoomi Pujan

Whenever any kind of construction work is started on new land, before that the land is worshiped, it is recognized that if there is any defect of any kind on the land or any inadvertent mistake from the owner of that land. If it has happened, with the help of Bhoomi Poojan, Mother Earth showers her grace by forgiving mistakes on all types of faults.

Many times when a person buys land, it may be that the land has been desecrated by the wrong acts of the previous owner of the said land, so it is consecrated again by land worship. It is believed that by performing Bhoomi Pujan, the construction work is completed smoothly. During or after construction, there is no loss of life and at the same time, there is relief from other problems.

Method of land worship (Bhoomi Pujan)

First of all, on the day of worship, in the morning, the land that is to be worshiped should be cleaned there and cleaned. For the worship, the help of a qualified scholar Brahmin should be sought. At the time of worship, the Brahmin should face north and sit on the palathi.

One should sit facing east. If the person is married, then sit your ardhangani on your left side. The body, place, and posture are purified by chanting. After that Lord Shri GaneshShould be worshiped Silver snake and Kalash are worshiped in Bhumi Pujan. According to Vastu Vigyan and Shastras, there is a Hades under the land whose lord is Sheshnag. the servant of Lord Vishnu.

It is believed that Sheshnag has lifted the earth on its fun. The purpose of the silver snake worship is to find the grace of Sheshnag. It is believed that just as Lord Sheshnag is handling the earth, similarly, he will also take care of this building. It is also believed that the Sheshnag resides in the Kshi Sagar, therefore milk, curd, Sheshnag is invoked by mantras by adding ghee so that Sheshnag gets direct blessings of God.

By putting coin and betel nut in the Kalash, it is believed that Lakshmi and Ganesha will be blessed. The Kalash is considered to be the symbol of the universe and the form of Lord Vishnu and he is prayed to remain seated in this land including Goddess Lakshmi and always support the building on Sheshnag land.
