The Shukla Tritiya Tithi of Bhadrapada i.e. Bhadon month is celebrated as Hartalika Teej. There is a difference between Haratalika Teej and Hariyali Teej. Do not treat them as equal, because Hariyali Teej is celebrated in the month of Saavan, whereas Hartali Teej which has its own special significance in Bhadas.
Actually it is believed that on this day, by worshiping and fasting Goddess Parvati, Suhagin women get the boon of getting the desired age of their bride and unmarried girls.
Why Say Hartalika (Kyu kehte hai hartalika)

On the other hand, going in front of Lord Vishnu, Narada Muni said that Giriraj wants to get you married to Parvati. Lord Vishnu also allowed it. Then going to Mother Parvati, Narada Ji informed that your father has decided to marry you to Lord Vishnu.
Hearing this, Parvati was very disappointed and requested her friends to take her to a secluded secret place. As per the wishes of Mata Parvati, after saving her father Giriraj from the eyes, her strictures left Mata Parvati in a cave in the dense desert.
Staying here, he started a rigorous tenacity to get Lord Shiva as a husband, for which he established a Shivling of sand. Incidentally, Bhadrapad Shukla Tritiya was the day when Mata Parvati in Hastha NakshatraFounded the Shivalinga.
On this day, while fasting, they also performed awakening at night. Lord Shiva was pleased with his harsh tenacity and gave Mother Parvati the boon to fulfill her wishes. The next day, Mata Parvati, with her sakhi, passed the fast and made all the worship material flow into the river Ganges.
On the other hand, the father of Mother Parvati was distraught at leaving her daughter’s house unsuccessfully after promising the marriage of her god Vishnu to Parvati. While searching for Parvati, they reached that place, after which Mata Parvati told them the reason for leaving her house and told about her resolve to marry Lord Shiva and the boon received by Shiva.
Then the father Giriraja apologized to Lord Vishnu and agreed to marry his daughter to Lord Shiva.

Haratalika Vrat Puja Vidhi
For this fast, the forms of Lord Shankar and Goddess Parvati are made from the sand of the river bank. After that a pavilion of flowers is decorated for them. This fast has to be kept hungry and thirsty, which is to be done the next day by immersing Shivling in the river and other worship materials.
